Congratulations to The Handmaid’s Tale

The Handmaid’s Tale was the big winner during the Emmy Awards 2017, together with the HBO series Big Little Lies.

Are you looking for a TV series to watch tonight? If you let the Emmy Awards decide what to watch for you, then The Handmaid’s Tale or Big Little Lies will be your pick. But, life is quite a bit harder than that. If I were to pick a TV series to watch for myself tonight, I would probably pick almost anything else than The Handmaid’s Tale and Big Little Lies.

I have already streamed Big Little Lies on HBO, but so far, I have just streamed the first episode of The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu. If I am to be fully honest, and of course, a blogger should be, then I didn’t enjoy Big Little Lies, but since it was made up of only seven episodes, and it was well made, I watched it all the way still. There is not doubt about the fact, that Big Little Lies is a masterpiece, but there are lots of things with great quality that I dislike. Even though a piece of classical music might be a masterpiece doesn’t mean that I have to like it. In the same way, Big Little Lies was a masterpiece, which I didn’t enjoy.

What about The Handmaid’s Tale?

I haven’t watched the first season, with the exception of the first episode. Just like with Big Little Lies it seems to be a masterpiece, but it is not a TV series for me. What kept my spirit up with Big Little Lies was the fact that I thought it was made up of eight episodes only (and then after seven episodes I discovered that it was only seven episodes). The fact that I knew it would only be a few more episodes kept my spirits up. With The Handmaid’s Tale, it is different. It is a tough story, hard to watch, and the fact that I do not know when it is going to end made me lose my spirit quickly and watch something else instead.

I still want to congratulate Hulu on their success. If you want to stream The Handmaid’s Tale on Hulu, click the following link for instructions on how it can be done.
